Google Docs has undergone a major accessibility upgrade.

One of the most important Google Docs tools is getting important software upgrades to make your productivity suite easier than ever to access.

Google has released an update to the Google Docs Braille mode to make it easier for assistive technology users to manipulate suggestions in documents.

This means that anyone using a screen reader or an updatable braille display can use Google Docs to experience a more interactive environment, including whether the offer is correct or not. The company states that you can listen to detailed suggestions along with the rest of the text. Insert or delete, provider.

The update is currently starting to roll out to Google Docs, with full documentation expected by the end of August 2021. According to Google, this feature is not managed by admins, but end users are required to enable it. It is off by default.

You can enable it by going to Tools> Accessibility Settings> Braille Support On.

This feature is used by users with accounts across Google Essentials, Business Starter, Business Standard, Business Plus, Frontline, Enterprise Standard, Enterprise Plus, Education Fundamentals, Education Plus, Nonprofits, Cloud ID Free, and Cloud ID Premium services.

Google has provided braille support in some of its productivity suites, allowing you to connect braille displays for documents across PC, Android, and iOS devices.

Google recently unveiled a new “smart canvas” approach to Workspace to make working online easier. We hope that this will connect various apps and services much more smoothly.

This also means that as most of the world moves into a new era of hybrid work, users will not continue to search for important pieces of information such as Google Docs, Meet, Slides, and Sheets.

Below are some of the document improvements you can see when using Braille mode.

  • You can move the cursor using the braille display cursor routing buttons.
  • In addition to keyboard shortcuts for documents, you can use many common screen reader shortcuts.
  • Screen reader input echo faster than earlier
  • Faster screen reader navigation processing when navigating to characters.
  • Better screen reader announcement for punctuation and whitespace.
  • Screen readers use the character echo and word echo settings instead of always echoing characters while typing.
