Bangladesh will leave for T20 World Cup on October 3

Bangladesh will travel to Oman on October 3 as part of its mission to the T20 World Cup in Oman and the United Arab Emirates.

The day before departure, team members from Bangladesh will be tested for Covid19 on October 2nd. Immediately thereafter, they will have to maintain strict home quarantine for 24 hours.

Bangladesh will miss its only training match in Oman to stay protected during the six-day compulsory bio bubbling, a prerequisite for the upcoming ICC T20 Cricket World Cup, a Bangladesh Cricket Council spokesman said on Tuesday.

BCB officials insisted they were in talks with their Oman counterpart so they could organize a training match. But it was canceled at the last minute as it would jeopardize their six-day mandatory bio bubble.

A BCB official told, “We will be quarantined in Oman for six days, and if we play the practice game against a local team, the bio-bubble may be jeopardized.” So we decided to skip the practice game,” According to Cricbuzz.

Bangladesh will take part in two scheduled warm-up matches against Sri Lanka and Ireland on October 12 and 14 in Abu Dhabi, before returning to Oman on October 15 for qualifying events for the tournament.

In the first round of the World Cup, Bangladesh will face Scotland, Oman, and Papua New Guinea on October 17, 19, and 21.
