Bangladesh vs Australia | Watch Now

Australia Tour of Bangladesh 2021

The Australia cricket team came to Bangladesh in August 2021 to play a 5 match T20 series against the hosts. For both teams, this series plays an important role in the preparation of the T20 world cup. All matches are being played in Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium.

Australia just came from the West Indies tour where they lost the series. Australia cricket team won just one match in a five-match series. On the other hand, Bangladesh just came from Zimbabwe with a series win. There are missing players for both teams. Players like Mushfiqur Rahim, Tamim Iqbal are not playing. For Australia, David Warner, Steve Smith, Glenn Maxwell are not playing.

There was an opportunity for Bangladesh and Australia teams to work on plans and players to press for selection ahead of the T20 World Cup. The series couldn’t significantly compress two sets of games in a row and five games that took place over seven days, and it took a lot of work and negotiation to get this tour on the road.

Bangladesh snatched the opportunity perfectly and marched to an unassailable 3-0 lead to register their first series win against Australia. In the third T20 match in this series, they defended 128 in a close finish during the third T20I in Dhaka. Mahmudullah led from the front by scoring 52 and batting deep to ensure the hosts had some firepower left late in the innings. Mustafizur Rahman, Shakib Al Hasan, and Nasum Ahmed combined to apply the brakes on Australia’s run chase. Debutant Nathan Ellis’ hat-trick went in vain for the visitors, for whom Mitchell Marsh continued his fine form and contributed 51, while Josh Hazlewood and Adam Zampa chipped in with the ball.

4th T20 match of this series among Ban vs Aus will be played in the evening today. Now Bangladesh wants to Whitewash the Aussie. Meanwhile, Australia will be trying to recover from its loss and re-established its hunger for the win.

It is the first time Bangladesh and Australia have met in bilateral T20Is. Before that, they met four matches and all have come in the T20 World Cup. Australia was leading 4-0. But now it is 4-3. It would be no surprise to see that record slip over in the coming days.
